A message from our Managing Partner: As most of our clients, our firm has been monitoring the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) developments closely. At Erpelding, Voigt & Co., LLP, the health and safety of our employees and clients is always a top priority.

On March 17th, Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin announced during a White House briefing that the IRS will offer an automatic extension of the April 15th deadline and will waive interest and penalty charges for 90 days for Americans who owe up to $1 million in taxes. He still encourages Americans to file their taxes by April 15th, therefore maintaining operations is another top priority for Erpelding, Voigt & Co., LLP. We will closely monitor changes in state filing deadlines. At this time, we remain operational in our five offices – Algona, Buffalo Center, Fairmont, Humboldt & Okoboji.

Amid the growing concerns around COVID-19, we are taking additional steps for extra caution.

Moving In-Person Meetings to Virtual Meetings:

In an effort to minimize any potential exposure, we are taking the highest level of precaution and are changing all in-person meetings to a virtual format. Virtual meetings will begin tomorrow, Wednesday, March 18th and go through March 31st at a minimum. An Erpelding, Voigt & Co., LLP team member will be in contact with you to reschedule existing in-person meetings.

Work from Home:

Over the past several years, Erpelding, Voigt & Co., LLP has invested in technology to allow many of our team members to work from home. As such, we have instructed our team members with this technology to stay home and continue their work away from the office.

Drop-Off/Pick-Up:

The CDC recommends social distancing as a measure that can help prevent the spread of COVID-19. In an abundance of caution, we highly suggest Algona and Humboldt clients utilize our drop box located in the front of the respective office and Buffalo Center, Fairmont and Okoboji clients utilize the United States Postal Service. We also have the option of setting up a secure online client portal that will allow you to receive and upload documents. If this is something you would be interested in, please contact your respective office. Starting today, March 17th, we will mail all completed returns with an enclosed return envelope.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to us via e-mail or telephone. We are committed to serving and advising you today as ever. Thank you again for your continued business.
